Is there any way to get Windows Explorer to save the column settings so they open that way the next time. What is happening is, I set the column for the files wider to see the whole file name, but the next time I open the folder, the filename column is back down to where it is cutting off the filenames and have a huge "preview file" section. This is really nerve wracking.

Try holding down the Ctrl key while you close Explorer. Sometimes that forces it to remember its settings.

Thanks Jim. Looks like that might have cured it.
