Mooney, a solid steel and a steal
I have the white Mooney shown here and would like to say Tom Mooney build, solid precision-built pedal steels.
This red one is priced very reasonably and if you lay down the dough, you will be happy you did.

Tom Mooney Steel Guitars
I believe this Mooney D-12 also has split-tuning screws as does my white Mooney and the red D-10 both shown below. This D-12 is likely have them also.
Tom Mooney told me he only made about 20 of these steels, so many of you may not be familiar with them and their quality.
Here is what Tom wrote to me about his steels:
"... The changers are my own design, although as you know, there are only so many ways to configure two levers. The changer is most similar to the one that Zane Beck used.
The body is hard maple, in fact fabricated with maple from a bowling alley factory in upstate New York...."
As an owner, in my OPINION, they are right up there with the best of them and I own Mullen, Zumsteel, Kline and Williams.
I had intended to sell mine but soon came to my senses.
