I thought I'd seen every kind of pedal steel guitar there is, until I ran across this Craigslist ad:

http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/4880881512.html

I'm not (as my old granny used to say) throwing off on it, I've just never seen anything like it before. I can see where it would work nicely for a keyboard player who doubles on PSG, because it wouldn't take up much floor space under the keyboard stand.

Three questions: How common are these Excel guitars?; are they any good?; and which one of you Nashville guys is selling it?

Thanks!

It's an early model of an Excel guitar. They are still manufacturing them. See http://www.fuzzypsg.com/int/index.html.

Others might slide in here (pun intended) to let you know who carries them in the US.

I think Scotty's Music did or does, I stand to be corrected.

As of a year or so ago, Scotty's was a dealer.
If had it, I'd want more knees. But I bet Scotty's can get the parts.
Well made guitars. I'm surprised the diagonal braces don't also go left to right.
