Topic: Removing Carter Pedals from the pedal bar??? |

What is the process for removing pedals from the Carter pedal bar?
There looks like there is some kind of set screw on each end of the first and last pedal...but I can't fine what type of allen type wrench will remove the pin. |

Without checking as I'm away from the steel. It might well require a torx wrench, not an allen.

The little blocks at the end of the pedals, do indeed, have a set screw. That locks the block onto the rod the pedals are mounted on. To get the pedals off, you need too remove these blocks, and the phillips screw on the bottom of the pedal bar, and the pedals will slide off. Make sure you tighten those set screws when you put the pedals back on. They keep the rod from sliding back and forth when you use the pedals. I don't think the rod would slide enough for a pedal to fall off.
It is a hex head set screw, not a torx.

Thanks for the info. It is a hex set screw...1/16"
I've worked on a lot of Sierra's and older MSA's. This Carter is new territory for me. It is a U12 that I bought form a gentlemen that rarely played it...it's a 1999 build. |
