OK, my restoration-project Maverick has 3 floor pedals and four holes down by the changer (where I assume there must have once been a knee lever).
The serial number is 1368. So, am I right in thinking that denotes 1 lever 3 pedals built 1968?
Or is it much more complex, my dear Watson?
PS: I've sourced an original knee lever set-up, but the USA owner isn't keen on posting it to Ireland. Is there anyone over there who'd act as the middle-man and send it on if it was posted to them? (Obviously, all postage costs covered....
(Yes, I know it seems straightforward enough to make up a simple single lever to drop 2 and 8, but I'd love to keep it authentic if I could!) |

I'd be happy to help Tony however just know that the shipping will be similar for shipping a $5,000 guitar or a $500 guitar (w the exception of the insurance fee). My "guestimate" is that is will cost you in the neighborhood of $300 if using a shipper like IPS shipping if no additional packing is required. |

Hmm, I was thinking what he meant was, he found a lever kit here in the US and the seller doesn't want to ship it to Ireland. I think he is asking if anyone here in the US would receive the kit then send it on to him. I may be wrong though. |

I would also be happy to forward the package to you, either USPS or UPS, whatever I could do to help. _________________ GFI w/Steeltronics 507, Profex II, Nashville 112’s, Hilton, George L .155’s, BJS, Steelers Choice |

If the part is close to Houston Texas, I can probably pick it up then ship it, thus, only one postage needed. Then I could ship it on to you. |

It's pretty easy to send a small package to Ireland. You can do it on the USPS.com web site, print the label and even have the mailman pick it up at your house. We routinely ship small goods worldwide that way. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

No. It's just a serial number, not a model number. Pretty low number too! |

According to Gene Haughs' info:
# 1367 Built 8/3/71 Tues.
That makes yours the next one built, a 1971. _________________ 1976 Sho-Bud Pro II, 1976 Sho-Bud LDG, BF Fender Deluxe, Evans FET 500 LV, BF Princeton Reverb, '68 Vibrolux Reverb |

Stand down, team. The lever kit is no longer available, so I'll be making my own (or maybe two!) over here.
Appreciate the offers of shipping help anyway.
Regards from Ireland. |

Glad you asked when your steel was made. My red one is #1340, if I remember correctly, and it's interesting to now know its approximate age.
I wish mine was in as good a condition as yours. It's a "rescue steel", a badly abused basket-case beater. But it was only $99 at the local music store, some years back. Someday it'll play again! |

You might want to message Ricky Davis or James Morehead. They would probably know where you can get a kit, James may even have one. |

Just an afterthought...and going back to my original serial number theory:
(OK, my restoration-project Maverick has 3 floor pedals and four holes down by the changer (where I assume there must have once been a knee lever).
The serial number is 1368. So, am I right in thinking that denotes 1 lever 3 pedals built 1968?)
This theory offers conclusive proof that banjer pickers (my main instrument) find logical thinking a challenge. I realised yesterday, that if my theory was correct, every Maverick with that set-up would have the same serial number that year. Mmmm..time for my tablets I think. And maybe a little lie-down.
Happy New Year!!!!! |
