Fender 2000 10 pedal 1 Knee,info or value

Hi,i had posted previously about a steel a gentleman called me about,he thought it was from the 50`s. it is a double 10 Fender 2000.I beleive it to be a early 60`s, Any thoughts or pricing I should pay for such a piece. Thanks Jake

They emerged in the late 1960s and flourished in the early 1970s. The now recently deceased Gene Fields was the main designer of the instrument.

Fender 2000, released in 1964 (they were all D10's). Worth about $1000-$1400. People often pay more, but I can't imagine why.

I think Donnie's in the right range, if the condition is very good. If it has condition issues you probably want to pass because parts will be hard to come by. If you want a modern guitar you should also pass as they are not equipped with knee levers and are extremely large and heavy. You may need to bulk up in order to schlep it around. Otherwise I love the sound of a 2000 - it has that 60s pedal steel whine like no other.
