I have never seen a Sho~Bud changer like this one, looks like it's cut off, or not even a Sho~Bud changer at all, I owned a Pro III with metal necks, and changer didn't look anything like this..but I may be wrong..wouldn't be the first time.... and seller has no feedback at all

maybe Super Pro with metal necks had a different kind of changer, I don't know
this is Sho~Bud changer I am familiar with (on metal necks), I haven't seen a different one ( on Pro series guitars) _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

Looks to me, like someone ground off the tabs to possibly make string changes easier. They certainly didn't bother with a fine finish on the grinds. Depending on what else is Hacked Up, it still could be a good deal, if all it needs is a new changer |

The changer looks to be from
the Sho~Bud Baldwin era when
the Sho~Bud Crossovers were
being marketed.

Not Many Super Pros had aluminum necks but they are out there. They where special order most in black lacquer finish. _________________ Daniel J. Cormier

The guitar is not mine.
I just saw it and thought someone might want to buy it.
I definitely didn't know I was doing something wrong.
My apologies to the forum.

I have one like you've described Danny. The changer doesn't look or mount like the one on eBay. |

I wish some Sho Bud expert would chime in but I think the necks and changer have been swapped out on this guitar and can't imagine why. I've never seen a Bud with that kind of changer unless it's just an experiment by Sho Bud at some time. _________________ Henry Matthews

Henry,
I certainly don't claim to be a Sho~Bud expert by any stretch, so just out of curiosity I posted a topic about this same guitar earlier on the same day it appeared on eBay.

Yeah, this is an odd one... even for Sho-Bud.
The changers fingers look like an older, Crossover era changer, but the rest of the changer looks stock...3up/2down. So does the rest of the undercarriage.
My SuperPro has alum necks, and the changers look just like the pic that Damir posted earlier. The necks do encircle the changer, in a wraparound fashion, but there's something about the profile of those necks that doesn't look exactly right... maybe it's because of the cutout that was done to fit that p/u in there. |

Its possible that he cut those off to get the changer axle out of the changer, which really wasn't necessary to do. |
