steel guitar light

Was wondering if anybody knows of a product that lights up the fret board of a steel. Other than that of a clip-on light sourse or flashlight-lol. It seems to me I heard or saw a while back of a product that goes under the strings or rests on the guitar somehow to illuminate the fretboard. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks in advance

That is too cool, does anyone have experience with the newest model MSA PSGs?

How is the tone?

I have three new style MSA's, a Millennium, a Legend, and a Studio Pro. Tone is subjective, but I love all three of mine, they make me sound good.

Hi Dan,
I've started making illuminated fretboards that might suit you.
Check out my site and see what you think.

Cheers from Scotland!

I can vouch for this product, I have seen it and tried it out, Richard brought me a selection of colours to try out, my favourite colours were the blue and red( blueberry and raspberry). Richard is a top class guy to deal with. :D

I asked Jim Cohen that same question about the Millennium. His answer was: "It sounds like a steel guitar."

Subsequently he bought one, and I have 2 of them. I'm very happy with them.

I got to try the MSA Legend with built in Lfrets at Dallas, awesome guitar, and Lfrets worked well, my Milly was an early one which I had Kyle and the boys at factory bring up to M3 standard, amazing job by them, also now even more awesome than it was. :D

Roy, a question if I may, could the wiring be moved to the backside? I would not be really fond of it "hanging" off the front.

Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

Good day!
I hope you don't mind if I reply on Uncle Roy's behalf.
The fretboard is custom-built, so if you prefer to have the cable on the edge nearest you then this is not a problem and doesn't add a penny to the cost.
The fretboard works pretty well even if it's put on upside down.
In the next couple of weeks I'll be introducing special non-adhesive clips to tidy the cabling.
Thanks for your interest in the fretboard.
Happy New Year to all.
Kind regards,
Richard (from live-edge-fretboards)

I received my LED fretboard from Richard Topping at Live Edge Fretboards last week. Here's a couple of photos from my phone. It couldn't have been simpler to fit and set up, and it seems easy to play with it, even in darkness. The illumination is brighter with a regulated power supply, but there's a decent level even from the little battery box supplied.

Mine is one of the early orders, I understand he is looking at tooling up to use more efficient CNC methods to make them in future. It arrived very swiftly after the order was placed. Nice one, Richard, great service!
