Tuning Problems

Post by Peter Cummins »

Howdy folks.
Would some one be so kind as to advise is the Fender 800 10 SN PSG an all pull system or a push/pull.
Also in E9 tuning the fifth string B only raises to C instead of C#. I tried adjusting the end screw for the fifth string with no audible change in pitch.
Any suggestions??
Thank You, Pete

The Fender 800 is indeed an All pull PSG. with a double raise double lower changer system. There are 4 screws for each string. Two raises and two lowers. AS such the cable loops go together for each. IE, there is a hook for one raise, a second hook for the other raise. Same for lowers. The cable end loops are looped over a given hook on the changer finger.

Check this out to make sure that the screw you are adjusting corresponds to the cable loop wire that goes to THAT hook. If not try the other raise screw. Etc.

May Jesus bless you in your quests,

carl

Sometimes simple things can make all the difference. Some might say this is self evident, but make sure there are no cables binding or wound around other cables, then make sure all the cables have just a tiny bit of slack. If there is no slack, you have tuning problems. Just my 2 cents worth!
