Installing set screws on knee levers

Post by Mike Perlowin »

The knee levers on my 2 MSAs do the same thing, but don't feel the same because they are set at different angles. I mentioned this to Blackie Taylor, and he came up with the idea of installing set screws that made the angles of the knee levers adjustable.

I understand some manufacturers do this as a matter of course, but MSA did not. (I wonder if the Millenium has this feature.)

At any rate, it's a great idea, and my guitars are more comfortable now, and it's easier for me to get to certain pedal/knee lever positions because I don't have to move my knee so far. I'm really glad I had this done to my guitars, and I highly recommend the proceedutre to thos whose guitars don't already have this feature.

Yes, Mike, the Millenniums have set screws on the knee levers and they're very handy.

All Emmons have set screws for adjusting the levers left or right. Excel does too. But they go one step further. Then have set screws that allow for front to back adjustment. Truly the best of all worlds.

If I remember correctly, I seem to recall Sierra does also.

My BMI's got em. I thought they were standard... Of course, I put my picks on backwards the first time, too Image

I think it should be standard on all guitars, it makes playing so much more comfortable if you can adjust them. Like a tailor-made suit.
My Bud has a Duane Marrs undercarriage+ knee levers and I wouldn,t want it differently anymore.

Absolutely critical for any guitar with staggered knee levers. I'm curious about the 'in and out' adjustment, however. Anyone got a picture?

Right on the adjustment screws except on the vertical knee. No adjustment at all. Seems to be the nature of that beast. Emmons needs to come up with a good fix on that like an extension.
