Steel Guitar Emmons

Post by Alvie Joe Baker »

I am Joe Baker's widow and I have his purple steel guitar Emmons that Buddy Emmons sent to him I believe back in the 60's. Can anyone tell me how much it would be worth?

Please email me @ sharonbaker49@hotmail.com

Thank you

Alvie: Sorry for the loss of your husband.

We need to have more information to give an opinion on value. A few pictures would answer most questions, but if you don't have that capability then:

How many necks?

How many strings per neck?

How many floor pedals and knee levers?

What's the general condition of the guitar and case?

Does it say LeGrande on the front of the guitar on the right side as you look at the guitar from the audience side? (If the guitar is from the 60s then it will not have the LeGrande logo, but just checking.)

Hope this helps.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

Don't get anxious to accept offers until you've provided the information.

There are some serial numbers/model years, particularly in the 60's that are worth a considerable amount more than others.

Range is likely 3000 to 12000 depending...

Oops!! I see that Alvie was your husband's name. Or did he go by Alvie Joe? Sorry to mix that up Sharon.

Where did your husband play? Can you post any pictures showing Alvie playing the Emmons? That would help.
