Adjusting Knee Location on Sho-Bud

Post by Jesse Harris »

I was wondering if there is any way to adjust the position of the knee levers on my Pro-II custom, I have fiddled around and have yet to find a way to do it other than relocating the mount position. I just need the LKR and LKL to be closer to each other. Any help appreciated.

thanks

There is an adjustment screw on the knee lever itself. If you have the tear-drop levers, it´s on the inside so you´ll have to take the knee lever off in order to get access to it. I don´t know about the straight levers since I´ve never had one of those, but there should be something similar. Basically, turning the screw out will cause the lever to stop more at an angle towards the inside, thus making the distance a little smaller, this seems what you would like to do. Turning it in will result in more slack towards the outside, if you find they are too close instead.

Hope that helps,

Joe H.

If I remember right, there is a little allen screw up by the hinge on the knee lever. You can screw it out to change the angle of the dangle. Just keep adjusting the screw until you get the levers where you want them.

p.s.: I guess Joe and I were posting at the same time but you don't have to take the lever off to access the screw, just fold it up next to the body and you'll see it.
[This message was edited by Erv Niehaus on 28 May 2003 at 10:58 AM.]

[This message was edited by Erv Niehaus on 28 May 2003 at 10:59 AM.]

I use thick foam-rubber tubing, which is used to isolate aircon pipes, and slide it over the levers. That way each side of the lever is about 1/2" wider, thus reducing the distance between 2 levers by about 1". I also use it on the vertical lever.
It is also non-slip, and softer on the knees.

On my Pro-II I have the straight levers and an allen screw with locking nut. Loosen the later adjust the lever, and when your happy tighten the lock nut. Pretty easy.
The foam idea is interesting, but maybe not so esthetique. Image

thaks for the help guys I adjusted those little screws last night and now the guitar fits like a dream. There were hex bolts on the screws that prevented them from pushing the lever out, so I removed them and got the couple inches I needed. those bolts didnt seem to make a difference, were they an aftermarkt addition?, do I need them for any reason?

thanks
Jesse
