Missouri PSGers - need your help!

Post by Eric Myers »

Would anyone within a two - three hours drive from me (I live in Waynesville between Rolla and Lebanon) be willing to take me under their wing once a month a couple times to give me a little hands on with my pedal steel? I'm new to this and already have gotten into trouble trying to work things out on my own -I'd be willing to make the drive and pay for your time - as far as branson or colombia or wherever reasonable - this can be pretty intimidating all by my lonesome, just need to pick your brain while actually touching the instrument. PS Thanks to everyone, you know who you are (Bobby Bowman cough cough)for helping me with my little "problem" recently =) (I broke what cannot be broken!) Best community on the net
Thanks
Eric

Eric, why don't you come to our meeting once a month in Baxter Springs, Kansas. We're just getting our club started and Waynesville isn't that far. Baxter is just 15 miles west of Joplin and we would love to have you here. Our meeting is on the first Sunday of each month from 1:00-5:00. That's what our club is about, learning the steel guitar. Also the NEOSGA out of Siloam Springs, Ar. has their meeting on the 4th sunday of each month. It just 15 miles west of Springdale, Ar. All it would cost you is the gas down and back plus you would get to meet some new friends who love steel guitar also. If you get a chance this weekend, go to the Tulsa steel convention and you'll find out what steel guitar is all about. Feel free to e-mail me anytime.

Scott, sorry that wasn't me! It was probably Jerry Roller from VanBuren, Ar. He was an Emmons dealer. I think that he still is. I had some video equipment for sale here awhile back and some of the guys at Lee Mace's were interested it. Couldn't get our timing right tho.
Eric, if you go to the Tulsa Show, be sure and look me up.

Thanks for all the offer here and a few in my email - Scottys sounds the most practical - wow I didnt think someone would be so near! It really takes some of the weight of trepidition off of me if this works out - the kansas thing sounds like fun - my wifes and army drill so scheduling is kind of by our noses - tulsa would be fun but its the end of the month and our army paycheck dont quite reach that far hahaha thanks all! Twanggggg

Eric, try Terry Wood at Conway, just down the interstate from you. He posts on the forum, so do a search on his name and get his email address. He's a fine steel player.
