John E. Dopyera,85,son of John Dopyera and nephew to Emil and Rudy, who invented the Tri-cone,Biscuit cone and Spider-bridge resonators for the National Guitar and Dobro companies, died 11-12-2014 in Ithaca NY,which was his home for the last 10+ years. We were friends and John used to come see me play whenever he could when I passed through that area. He was a retired psychologist. We had some great talks about the instrument and his Dad and Uncles.

Sorry to hear of the family's loss. John Sr., along with Emil and Rudy certainly created a wonderful legacy among Tricone. and Dobro users.

Thank you for sharing the sad news, K Maul. I cherish my phone conversations with this fine gentleman in which he generously shared family history and events as he recalled them firsthand. Godspeed, Mr. Dopyera!*

*He explained the pronunciation as resembling dough located on a pier, plus "Ah".
