I'm no expert on them, but If it's an '80's model, it should be an all pull. Unless it's a Maverick, there're kind of like a push/pull, you tune them the same way. I'm sure if you mentioned the model you are looking at, some other, more knowledgeable formites will have more information.

Larry, I wasn't aware that Sho-Bud made a push/pull in the '80s, '70's or '60's, for that matter. Then again, I'm not an expert. I was always under the impression that, originally, Sho-Bud was modeled after the Bigsby, which was, essentially, an all-pull

Have not seen the guitar in person. And I also dont know anything about Sho~Bud guitars.I was going by what the music store
owener said.BTW he admits to not knowing
anything at all about steel guitar.took it in on trade.1980 ProII 8&2 he said a customer
told him he thought it was p/p.he's about a 10 hour drive from me and I was trying to find out what I could before makeing the trip.
thanks

Larry, you're being given wrong information. No such thing as a Pro-II push-pull. If its a 1980 its a Pro-II Custom. They are good guitars but need to be set up by a Sho-Bud expert after you got it. They are all pull.

Just about any D-10 Sho-Bud in good shape is going to be worth $1K. I would expect to have to take the thing apart and clean everything, especially the changer, and do a lube job, including the pedal board. It's kind of a pain, but i just consider it to be part of the "bonding process". The chrome can be cleaned up with steel wool, the pedal board can be polished, if the paint isn't too bad it can be rubbed out and so on....

For $1,000,- I would run and get it, if the guitar is in a decent condition.

Based on the sort of information you have posted so far that guitar could be anything and might be a real turd. Find somebody that knows steel around there to check it out.
2nd best thing to do would be to have a series of pics taken. Underside and everything.

Post the pics and then you can an answer that might have some meaning.
