I disclosed in another thread that the push forward knee levers on right and left knees, are useful in making additional uncommon changes. Comments are most welcome. I don't recall reading about these augmentations in current "copedant" literature. The LKF, and RKF form the boxed in knees, which can provide 8 direct options while tracking melodies.

| Didn't Emmons have these on some of their guitars a couple of years ago? I've seen/heard nothing else about them since. Any recent sightings of them? |

Chris, I'll make some inquiries to ascertain, if in fact The Emmons guitars ever featured push forward knee levers. If you find further information concerning the push forward knees, please let me know.

Please close this thread. I learned after requesting to move it to Pedal Steel section, that Emmons did produce a forward knee lever. I would be very interested to learn how this came about, that is, who suggested it to the Emmons Company, and what prompted the request to have it installed. I used the push forward knees in 1992, when I played at the Pedal Steel Guitar Association's Annual Show. I used the RKF to produce an augmented 7th in the popular tune, called "Misty."

Thanks for recalling the post. At the time the forward knee post was entered, I tried to explain that not another player to my knowledge, was using the forward push. According to Bobbe Seymour, it was common knowledge from day one, or shortly after pedals came into use. This is all very confusing, judging by the "copedants" in the W. Winston publication, which was available to players through various retailers. To my knowledge,
I don't recall any "copedants" listed in the magazine, showing the setup from a wide variety of famous steel guitarists.
