When I started playing about a year ago my first steel had the E -Eb on the RKL lever.Im kinda used to it this way now and sorta like it there.Just got another guitar that has that change on the LKR lever, which seems to be the most common place for it.I want both guitars the same but dont know which one to change. Do most players have their guitars set up the same way? Thanks Bob [This message was edited by Bob Smith on 11 May 2003 at 07:19 PM.] |

Bob, Mine have always been LKR for that change. I think thats standard. But for the absolute right answer to that question, I would like to refer you to Mr. Bobbe Seymour. He can be reached at sales@steelguitar.net.
Thanks,

Bob---although one way may be somewhat more common than the other, it absolutely does not mean that the other is not common. In other words, good reasons can be provided in support of one or the other. You are absolutely right to make your guitars match each other. The choice of which way is really yours. If you already are accustomed to one way, I'd say make that your standard. Not that it matters but my setup has it on the RKL. |

RKL was the standard position for that change on Sho-Buds, as I recall. Lots of people have it there, including Paul Franklin. If you're comfortable with it, don't change it. It takes a long time to rewire your brain when you move a frequently used knee lever.

Most of the old MSA's had that change on RKR when they left the factory (which is where it was when I learned). I eventually switched over to a guitar with that change on the LKR. |
