| I have a Sho-Bud Professional D-10 8/2 with Geo. L PF-1 and PF-2's.I'd like to get the opinion of Forum members on the best sounding pick-up for this guitar? These Geo L's sound pretty good to me but am I missing something? |

| Having installed tons of these I don't think you can do any better. The Tommy White George L may be slightly brighter than the PF 1. Ask some Sho-Bud players and get thier opinion. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works. |

I think what Bill Lawrence pickups do is delivering the real classic ShoBud sound without the noise. The Professional I got from Ricky has 705´s on it and it´s absolute killer. Unfortunately they don´t make those any longer but I guess 710´s should be fine too. If you want to get those, make sure they´re "Narrow Mount".

I have a late 70's sho bud pro II with george l's. it says e-66 on the pick up.
it sounds great to me especially through an old fender tube job. |

| 710's are nice, but still prefer the original ones. I'm not bothered by noise or hum. Don't use George L's, the shobud character is gone with 'm in my opinion. |

I can only second that. My Professional had several PUs but I always prefered the original ones.

| I've got one of the original single coils rewound by Jerry Wallace and it sounds great on the front neck. I've heard the BL 910 at Duane Marrs on a couple of Sho-Buds over there and they're killer. The Jerry Wallace pick-up doesn't have any hum that I can detect. I'd say he's making the best single coils out there. |

I'm using a George L Tommy White pickup in my Sho-Bud and it sounds great! Clear highs, solid lows, and smooth mids that are easy to EQ. I think the TW is in between the E-66 and the PF-1 as far as brightness goes. It's a really nice pickup IMHO and was easy to install into my Sho-Bud, which is about 26 years old. Hope this is helpful to you in your research.
