ATTENTION: to all steel players, guitar slingers, and traditional country singers. The MN Steel Guitar club will be holding an open jam on January 31, 2016 at The LODGE in Robbinsdale, MN from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. It has a full stage, and an open dance floor which we will try to utilize to accommodate all the players who show up. Due to limited electrical power in the room, we will have to swap out players and possibly use other players amps. The Lodge also has in the room that we will use, a dining area where people can order meals while watching their favorite players and singers.
In order to make this a success, I need to know who will be attending so as to make a schedule of players and time allotment for each player. Please contact me via Facebook, or send me an email at pedalman@msn.com. This will be posted on the Steel Guitar Forum, and if you are a member of that Forum, please spread the word to those who have no other way of reaching me.
The jam is open to any player in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota who can make the trip. If you want to attend, but not play, that will be fine, just let me know if you will be coming. For singers, if you can provide a list of songs that you might be singing, it will help the players know what you will be doing, and in what key you will be singing in for each song.
The Lodge is located at 4080 W. Broadway Ave, in Robbinsdale, MN. It has a limited parking lot, but does have underground parking. If you bring your equipment, you should unload in the upper parking lot, and then park in the underground space. If you are familiar with the area, you should have no problem finding The Lodge. If you are coming in from out of town, Mapquest will provide accurate directions.
Hope to see many of you there, and until then, Have a Happy New Year.

Getting close to the event, and would love to have many of you local players come and join in the fun.
The Lodge is located at 4080 W Broadway in Robbinsdale, MN, an easy location to get to, so come on over and have a good time. Bring your family, friends, associates, band members, and anyone else you can think of who might enjoy an afternoon of good fellowship and great music.
The Lodge has food and beverages for sale, so if you get hungry or thirsty, they can fill your order.
Hope to see you all there.

I think I will be attending with my significant other.
I don't know if I quite feel confident enough on my steel to play ... I'm on the fence. If there's an abundance of players, I am happy to just listen and enjoy... I'm also willing to bring my gear and play along too (I'm a non-pedal c6 guy).
decisions, decisions... _________________ Proud parent of a good dog. |

Very nice show today folks, I really enjoyed it. I hope there are more steel-oriented shows in the twin cities area soon.
And man, what a nice collection of instruments! A sho~pro, a Franklin, a Williams, and a Clinesmith all on the same stage... _________________ Proud parent of a good dog. |
