I bought this new in 1981. It was made when Takamine was copying Martin and later, got sued by Martin. These guitars go for a couple hundred dollars more than the later models. I saw one on eBay with a buy it now price of $795.00. Last week, my local music store looked it up and found one that had sold for $500.00 recently. It includes a hard shell case.
The guitar is in good condition. Only a small nick on the top side and some very minor scratches on the edge and back side. I paid extra for a solid top, spruce, if my memory is good since 1981. I can send photo's if anybody is seriously interested.
The electric part does not work. I was getting static when I plugged a cord in, so I thought it was the end pin. I got a new one and just stuck the wires in place but never soldered them in. There were 3 wires and I just had to guess what went where. I pulled the pickup out and there was a wire loose, which I soldered back. I am not sure if I soldered it to the right place or even if it was supposed to be soldered. I really don't think there is anything bad wrong with the pickup. It is beyond my ability to fix it and I don't want to sink money into getting it repaired. I am only asking $350.00 plus shipping, because of the electronic issue. Otherwise, I would be asking $500.00.
