Has anyone installed a current production Gibson '57 Classic Plus pickup in a lap steel?

Be sure to check the pole piece spacing on the replacement pickup. The pole pieces should match the string spacing for best results. Dimarzio for example, makes an "F Spaced" humbucking pickup which has a wider spacing that was perfect for an "El Cheapo" Kansas steel guitar I purchased some years ago. The original cheap humbucker sounded alright on strings 2 through 5, but didn't do the job on strings 1 & 6.

Don't think that should be an issue, as the instrument in question was originally fitted with the pickup that the '57 Classic Plus is supposedly patterned after:
