I have never seen one of Rick's cabinets live, but every picture and player review, makes me say that these cabinets are a step up above first class.

Rick, very fine work as usual! If you've got a back problem or just tired of lugging that old Heavy amp around, Rick is your "go to" guy when it comes to amp cabs. He built me split cabs for my NV400 about 7 years ago and it really makes a difference. We are fortunate to have folks like Rick and many other craftsmen/technicians on this Forum. Carl

My wife and I have been to Rick's home and shop, seen his workmanship and I have even owned one of his cabinets, perfect in every way imaginable. Rick, that cabinet & head looks great! The term, "elegant" comes to mind....seriously.

Rick made my split cabs, like Lloyd's, Ricky's, and James'. Bit of a twist though. I wanted them to match my Dr/ Z Maz jr.. Forest Green Tolex, Marshall-style checkered cloth, with white rope binding around the amp and the baffle board frame. It's exquisite! People compliment me whenever they see it. Rick's work is the best going!

Rick, does this mean you are now making twin reverb head cabs at full showman height? I think you said int he past you made them shorter, more like a bandmaster or bassman profile.

The older Showman head cabinet was around
8.5" or so not sure.
This head cabinet is only 10" tall. Thats
just enough room for the reverb tank.
The older taller version of Bandmaster Rev.
head cabinets looked ok with the larger
2/12 but this smaller one looks more
like the older piggy back amps.

Hi Rick
I sent you an email thru your website yesterday. I do have a question about the height of your top cabinet. I like the smaller look for sure. thought I had read where on the Dual Showman Reverb head they had made it 13" to minimize any reverb hum by keeping the reverb pan a little further away from the head? So on the inside, you have a total height of 8.5"?

I meant to say Dual Showman. My old (extremely dilapidated) one is @12.5" tall on the outside.

Just another big thankyou to Rick Johnson for making my 3 cabs here. Those are a pair of 15" extension cabs loaded with JBL K130's--original cones. The twin is a '75 chassis revoiced for pedal steel, with master volume removed, and aftermarket face plate. Reverb tank is in the head cab and the amp is quiet as a dead church-mouse. Works for me and my 'buds.

I'll say it again, Rick is an artist. A little Rick Johnson eye candy. And Rick doesn't know it, but I still need a couple of cabs. I'll let him get caught up a little first. Folks, it just doesn't git any better then this. By the way, Rick has a cover company that he uses, I haven't used them yet, but I might try them on my next RJ project. Look how Rick made my Fender Steel King useful again. Have a blessed day.
