I took a gig playing "The Best Little Whorehouse.." and the band goes direct using headphones. I am using Brad's V8 and the sound is great. I am using an Electro Harmonix nano Holy Grail reverb to soften it up a bit also.
It makes the gig a pleasure. I was dreading the idea of 6 weeks of direct sound in my earbuds but now I look forward to every show.
BTW: I tried out a pile of digital reverbs and the one that did the job best was the little EHX Holy Grail. _________________ Bob |

That's funny I was about to post on the same subject. I'm at the Texas State Fair for 24 days straight, running direct into my in-ears. The V8 gives real response and feel unlike any direct signal chain I have ever used. Now I like to play direct! |

Yeah, I've been posting about this one, too...It's hands down the best direct sound I've ever gotten, and sounds even better when you put it through a great preamp...Brad knocked this one out of the park! _________________ John Macy

Do either of you guys have any feel for the tonal differences between the V8 and the SMS Classic? |

I'll try this again. I had posted about the V8 before, but somehow it got taken off. At any rate, I am pleased beyond words with mine. I have now used it under different environments and playing conditions. It is a perfect dream come true. I use it with a Peavey Profex II and a Stewart PA1000 power amp. I dare any guitar player to get into a volume war with me, and I have a great steel guitar tone. I set it at about 12 o'clock on the bass and treble. BTW, I don't use the EQ in any of the profex programs. I started from scratch and made my own programs, leaving any preamps out of them. This unit is worth every penny of its cost. Brad, thanks for making such a great product. _________________ Bob Hempker |
