A friend of mine brought his amp over for me to adjust. I checked it over and made a few connection changes. This is about the best sounding rig I have ever plugged into.
Sarno pre-amp, Black Box, Alesis, little QSC and my Wet Reverb run through 2 Rick Johnson 15" cab's.

Is there an advantage in using a Black Box in front of a tube preamp?

I ask the same question. The owner of this setup said Brad told him to use the Black Box. I tried it both ways and the BB does make it smoother, to my ear anyway. I guess it is like ice crème . Two scoops are always better than one ! Very Happy

Interesting. I wonder if anyone has A/B'ed the SMS Classic and the V8. They're about the same price.
