Greg bought this amp from me in 2011, and has taken it all over the world with him. Nice to see that he is still using it and that it sounds better than ever! He installed a 15" Telonics speaker in it in 2013

Greg looked great...couldn't hear him play anything.
Maybe it's just me?

I could hear Greg fine, but he certainly wasn't nearly as loud as the Tele (fine playing by the way), and it would have been nice had the two of them did a little call and response with the Milkman cranked up. But even though Greg didn't get any solo time, he weaved his magic - his playing on the tune really added something.

As I have been told by folks whom have played a lot on TV in the past (like Jerry Douglas), what you hear in the studio audience may not be what one hears from the television feed - it can be very different.

Nevertheless, it all still comes down to the song, and that is probably the best new song I've heard from Jackson in years, might have to pick up the CD - and that is a killer band.

Greg did get a solo on "Take it Easy " but I'm not sure if that was broadcast on the main show. I thought he got to play a lot of great fills on the new song and I heard him loud and clear. The Williams and Milkman sounded great!

thanks so much for that second link with the additional two songs. to my knowledge at least, this is the only existing live recording (and video also) of Take it Easy/Lady of the Well performed back to back and WITH pedal steel.

Greg L. did a super job blending the Sneaky parts from the originals in with his own style, complete with phase-shifting. I'd wager he spent some time on those, just loved seeing and hearing it done live.

and of course the Milkman sounded terrific also Tim.

i just saw the one song and could barely hear greg. thought the guitar should have been splitting solos with him.

Thanks Roman, he looked familiar but I couldn't place him. Val's father is actor David McCallum, some of us here are old enough to remember him from the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

More of the Milkman action from Greg on the bonus song(s) that weren't shown during the broadcast, "Take it Easy/Our Lady of the Well." And great comments at the end by Letterman!

The outro on "Well" was a thing of exquisite beauty. What a great band Jackson has put together.

And I enjoyed the new song "Winslow" a lot. I read some reviews of Jackson's new album Standing in the Breach, all very good and it inspired me to swing by my local record store yesterday to buy it, along with Marty Stuart's new double CD.

Steel fills were great on that Milkman 85..Wish he got to split solos with the Tele but oh well..I wonder what ever happened to David Lindley who did all the old Lap steel stuff years ago for JB?

Lindley stays as busy with ever, he mostly plays solo or as a duo in recent years, but he also still appears occasionally with Browne.

I have seen Mr. Dave play solo a couple times in about the past 8 or 9 years.

Here is a live album they put out a few years ago from a tour they did in Spain I believe in 2006.

There were two performances: the new song called "Winslow," and the "Take it Easy/Our Lady of the Well" combination.

The new song was what was shown on National TV, and the other can only be found online as a bonus. But even if you choose to just watch Winslow, there's Easy/Well (which Scott Malchow linked in his post above) on the right side of your screen on YouTube. And Easy/Well was where Greg was able to step out quite a bit more, so for more steel that's the one to watch.

And for all we know, Greg might have chosen his steel part for Winslow to be what it was - his deal over the years has been to "serve the song" as opposed to being the guy as often as possible "taking a ride."

It always defaults to "Greg is serving the song" when I hear him play. If I wish he played more, louder, whatever, I then ask myself--"are you really telling Greg what he ought to be playing? Really?"

That McCallum info is gold! I want to say that it only makes sense that he plays the whole solo because, like, Napolean SOLO!!!! Except that he should have played the whole Kuryakin. That's not as funny.
