I just returned from Merkle, Tx, where 6 others and I sat in awe of Larry Toliver as he patiently spent 2 days, teaching us how to improve our E9/C6 playing. I've had several guitar instructors over the past 71 years and Larry is right at the top of that list. He presented a truckload of material, but he did it in such a way that made it easy to understand, then he followed up to make sure sure each of us was grasping each idea, technique or lick. I brought home enough material to keep me busy for quite some time. I heartily recommend Larry's classes for anyone who's like me and knows some things I just can't learn by myself. I knew lunch was included in the price I paid, but I never expected to be invited to Larry and Susie's home for it. I'm still wondering as good as Susie cooks, why Larry doesn't weigh a whole lot more. Larry's mom, (what a delightful surprise!) even baked a Coca Cola chocolate cake for us. Merkle, TX is not a large place, but it's home to a larger than life pedal steel player and teacher.......I'm already looking forward to the next class and maybe if we're lucky, more of Susie's home cooking. Larry's not the only talented musician in his family, his son, Kacey is an outstanding singer and he's got a really good handle on making his Tele talk. West Texas Steel Guitar School is well worth the money. |

Ditto what Lindell said. Larry goes above and beyond at this school. Two days of steel guitar fun, great people, great food, great experience. If you attend one of Larry's classes you'll never regret it.
Thanks Larry |
