We lost a dear friend and fellow steeler last night. Most of you will remember Larry as having a booth at the ISGC and Texas Jamboree, selling Kustom Kovers.
Larry just sat in his booth, waiting for people to come by and talk, whether they bought anything or not. In fact, I think he gave away more covers and pick pouches than he sold.
Years ago, Larry was the steeler for Hawkshaw Hawkins and Coyboy Copas.
Larry was a 2011 Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame recipient.
The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 9 at Noon.

I have been humbled as the family has asked me to play 4 songs at the funeral.
Just me and my steel.
So say a prayer for me that I can pull this off.
Larry was a dear friend for MANY years. |
