After struggling to find "the sound" for the last 6 months, success at last. I found a Pro III on eBay just before Christmas, and this guitar came to me with 8&5 and 2 George L's- it was in pretty good shape, overall, but needed a lot of TLC. After my friend, Jack Palmer, cleaned and adjusted the undercarriage, changed it from Day to Emmons setup and lowered it over 2.5 inches, I'm finally able to play it. I'm using a Peavey Profex II and a PX300. Brothers and sisters, this is an amazing sound. That big-body Sho-Bud sound, combined with those pickups, the range of sounds available on the ProFex, and the combination of 300 watts and a 15" BW is "to die for"!! I caught my bandmates looking at me during tonight's rehearsal with incredulity... not so much because of what I was playing (although I like to think I play a good lick here and there) but because of the huge-ness and sweetness of that sound. I believe I've arrived. Thanks to all on the forum who have counseled and informed me when I was searching and frustrated.

Hi David,

2 reasons: 1)My jazz friends don't dig PSG and 2) I'm much better on 6-string than on steel.

Thanks!
