Hi Richard.

Beautiful guitar! I tried to post some pictures of your LIII also, but to no avail. PictureHost is also down.

Sooooo....

How about a critique on her playability and tone.

From the southeast corner of Washington State.

I dont find even with the counterforce installed that it is any more stiffer pushing the pedal than a legrande 11.Also in case someone doesnt notice the undercarriage is chromed on the cross shafts.I wonder if this is an attempt to cut down on friction I dont know.It is a good playing and good sounding guitar.I have 5 compensators installed.I am glad you all like the chrome backplate. The fretboards are chromed also.

Very nice Richard! Image Is the chrome backplate a factory accessory? Seems like I remember that someone, maybe Ron Preston, had made one or two and was thinking of selling them. Image

Lovely!

Almost identical to mine ('though I don't have the chromed fretboards) including the backing-plate for the logo! Mine will be two-and-a-half years old this month, and she's still the first thing I'd save if we had a fire....after the wife, of course Image

Have fun with it!

Richard, that is a beautiful instrument:
The finish is glossy. Is it laquer on wood; or is it glossy Formica?
What brand of tuning machines?
Can one buy it for under 4G's?

Thanks much, Rick

Great looking guitar......
Jim, I had thought of the "backplate" idea when I worked for Emmons. I had made the 1st one and had it on my guitar at the "Knoxville Show" in 2000. Of course, when folks saw it, they just HAD to have one.
I have taken the plastic Emmons' plate and made a mold of it with the Plastic back cut out, so all you have is the "V" shape and the letters "EMMONS". I made my 1st one for myself cast in Sterling Silver. My axe is the color of Turquoise, so, I took some extra Mica and cut it to the shape of the "V" and mounted it on the Emmons' "Backplate". SOOO, what I have is a sterling silver "Emmons" nameplate with Turquoise "Filler", with a 1/4 inch thick aluminum milled "Backplate" all put together which looks pretty darn COOL on the ol' "Battleaxe". I plan to be in St. Louis this year, so people can check it out. I tried to give Jeff Peterson my 2nd one, but, his "Rodies" never gave it to him last year when I saw Clint Blacks' bus in Hendersonville at a Truck stop.
His was made with Mother of pearl from a 1964 "Rodgers' drum set.
Have a GREAT TIME IN DALLAS!!!!!
