It was a shuffle that went something like this:
"I Can't Stop Loving You Just Like That
Old Habits Are Hard To Break"

Smokey Stover was a comic strip. Was there also a singer with that name?

Gary, that one was by West Coast singer Wes Buchanan.
I think Gene Davis sang harmony. I have a couple of copies of that 45 around somewhere. Could be Mooney on steel?
Smokey used to perform at the Magnolia Opry in Texas in the 90s. He was a DJ in Houston in the fifties.
Here's a couple of shuffles by Smokey.

He wrote "Sometimes You Just Can't Win" which George Jones covered. Here's Smokey singing it with Mooney on steel.

Q: What's the difference between a comic strip character and a singer?
A: I don't know either.
