After reading some favorable comments about the Eminence EPS 12C speaker (and especially reading Tommy White's comments), I decided to give one a try in one of my 112's. Needless to say, I was impressed. I have Ken Fox's mod in my amps which helped considerably, but the 12C puts the amp in a new ballpark. And Tommy has always had a smoking tone, so how could I go wrong? My thanks to Kevin Hatton for a great price, and to Tommy for his experience. |

I got a EPS 12C from Kevin when they first were released and everything I have tried it in has seen a huge improvement - even PA bins with a 12.
I tried it in my Peavey Special 160 (same preamp as the 130) and the improvement was huge. I had already done a chip mod but that was only a small improvement. Works just as well for guitar as steel guitar too.
Luckily for steelers someone has influential as Tommy White has tried it/mentioned it and now there are a lot of listeners and converts.
Best speaker/s (both the 12 & 15) that Eminence have come up with in years. Thanks Kevin Hatton. _________________ Priebs GFI ('09)Short-Uni10. GFI ('96)Short-Uni SD11. ('86)JEM U12

Ditto, to everything that has been said. I put the Eminence in my 112 and it was a big improvement. The other thing I did was replace the Acutronics reverb pan (as Tommy suggested) with a Mod pan. Much better built and sounding unit and at $19.95, you can't go wrong. My 112 also has the Ken Fox chip upgrade. My 112 is now a great sounding amp. |

Roy you and Kevin got me all worked up! I have a stock Nashville 112 here that a friend gave to me keep for a while. I've played through it a few times but the sound wasn't doing it for me. Kinda dark and thick in the mids, with not much sparkle. I wanted to try it with a few different speakers just to see if I could make it sound better to my ears, but the molex connector makes that a bit of a pain.
How would you fellows quantify the difference in sound between this amp with the stock speaker vs. the EPS? _________________ Tommy Detamore

The Eminence EPS-12C speaker takes the classic nasal honk out of the amp and broadens the fidelity range of the sound a solid 25% on both ends. |

Would the 15C work well in a Nashville 400 or 1000?
How much weight would it take off? |

Chris,
It works great in my NV 400. I don't know the #s, but the weight saving is significant.
Try one, I don't think you'll regret it. |

Hi Tommy,
The Eminence speaker in my NV112 is very similar to a JBL to my ears. I run my Emmons with BL705 pickups and the tone to me is very even from highs, mids, and lows. The NV112 works great for me in the studio and doesn't have that "harsh" edge to it. If you know anyone that has one in their amp, see if you could give it a test run. I know that some steel players wouldn't be knocked out by the speaker, but that is why they make vanilla and chocolate! I hope you are doing well, my friend. |

Thanks Roy! The JBL sound is "the sound in my head", so the Emminence should fit the bill!
Still chasing my "Texas Tone"
Hope you are well too! Miss hanging with ya (and pulling all those pranks!) _________________ Tommy Detamore
