Peavey used the 1502-4 in the Session 500's.

The early Nashville 400's also used that same 1502-4 speaker.

One way to tell the difference is, the 1501 has a smooth cone and the 1502 has a ribbed cone.

If it has a 1501-4 speaker that was not the original speaker or it was custom ordered with the 1501.

I had one of the original (small cabinet) Session 500's and it came with the 1502-4. I've seen several on display at the ISGC in St Louis, back when they were produced, including the newer larger cabinet models and the stage amps provided by Peavey, and they were all the 1502-4 speaker.

Jack, this is the original speaker that came with the amp when it was new. I bought the amp new myself and didn't custom order the speaker. FYI this is 2-piece chassis amp and a 220V export version.

Yours is an exception. I have (or at least had) an old Peavey brochure and it listed the 1502-4 as the speaker in the Session 500.

My Session 500 was one piece (the preamp, power supply and power amp sections were mounted together, not separate). I suspect the two piece assembly was because of the export model and 220V mains.

Both of my 500s had 2-piece chassis, and my first was bought new in 82 (Wheaton Music, around the corner from Chuck Levin's). Given the mass of the tranny, I like that idea
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects
