Left Hand Cramps

I find that when I try to play more than a half hour or so, I start to get a crampy feeling across the back of my left hand. It goes away when I wiggle my fingers, but then it comes right back. Bar size and weight doesn't seem to matter. Is there some kind of tennis ball squeezing or flexing exercises I can do to avoid this entirely?

I found I *HAD* the same problem, until I changed my playing position-- for me it was moving a tiny bit closer to the geetar.... now theother problem I run into is, the top of my leg hits the bottom of the guitar when I use the volume pedal... oh well, gives me an excuse to use with the wife to buy me a new guitar Image

Make sure you are not holding on the bar too tightly. And put the bar down and stretch your hand between songs. Careful during practice sessions; don't "play through the pain".

Get in touch with Buddy Charlton. He spent a long time with me getting my left hand relaxed.
Buddy lives pretty close to you.
