I need to go through my original 1976 Pro III and disassemble and clean the changers etc. I plan on pulling the changers out and was wondering if anyone has ever flip flopped them seeing the E9th got most the work out in its days. Any thoughts?

You will end up disassembling the changers, so here is a simple solution - when you put them back together put the axle in rotated 180 degrees so a new surface are takes the wear from the fingers. Also, rearrange the finger order so the fingers that are most worn go onto strings that do not have pulls, or get used less, and put the better condition fingers where the more worn fingers where before. Voila, problem solved.

i think what he's asking is 'are the e9 and c6 changers interchangeable?'...

i don't know on a pro lll.
on some steels the e9 fingers are longer than the c6.
