Hello, I was wondering if anyone here is using a Boss GS-10 effects module with their pedal steel, and if so do you have any good patches you would care to share. It's a great unit in the Boss tradition, but a lot of the presets are geared towards distorted rock, not a bad thing but I would love to hear some great clean patches, with reverb & delay etc. The unit does have some computer software which I have downloaded and you can program patches on the computer visually and dump them to the unit. I just have not had time to fool with it much yet.

I have several of the Roland GP-100 multi effect preamp processors. I believe the Boss unit is similar with most presets unusable with steel guitar.
You didn't mention if you were using the preamp side of the unit? If so, shut off the EQ and cab simulator and adjust the gain and tone controls to taste. You can always add EQ if needed but I prefer not to.
I think you will find the distortion patches not friendly to the ear with pedal steel and certainly not easy to adjust on a live gig. I use the GP-100 for the effects only with great results for reverb and delays. I prefer to use a separate distortion device before the volume pedal so you get the same vibe no matter what position the VP is in. With 200 user and 200 preset patches I only use several.
