A lot of great steel playing on one stage

I just got back from the last picnic of a 34 year tradition in Estacada, OR - Rudy and Kay Alexander's party following the Auburn, WA Western Swing meeting.

Steelers spotted - Chuck Hayes, Lynn Stafford, Jimmy Webb, Dean Rankin, Harley James, and several more I don't know. Incredible playing by all these fine players (I had to leave before Lynn played, but I have no doubt he was great!).

I was wise - I just played guitar, and left the steel at home! These guys are waaaaay out of my league!

Steel guitar is alive and well, if today is indicative of anything
