I have a concert DVD that I want to rip so I can put the files on the MicroSD card in my phone so I can take them with me. I realize that the DVD doesn't break the files up into individual song tracks. How would I go about doing this, if it is even possible at all. I do notice a few of the songs from this DVD that have been uploaded to YouTube as individual songs. So, it evidently can be done. I could just download from there, but only a couple of the songs from the concert are there. I don't just want audio files. The concert CD also came with an audio CD, and I was able to download all the songs from Amazon in mp3 format, so I do have the audio files. But I would really like to watch the videos when away from home.
I have Googled for this info, but can only find limited info regarding ripping TV show season videos into individual files. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Open the DVD in Windows Explorer, look for the "Video_TS" folder. The *.VOB files are video files. Right click one and select open - you'll likely get a warning that "Windows can't open the file"....but it can. Click "Select a program from a list of installed programs, and pick Windows Media Player.
My Win7 media player plays native .vob files as they are on DVD, per the above. If for some reason yours won't, try copying them to your hard drive and renaming them to *.wmv. They should be playable then. |

Will I be able to transfer them to my phone and play them there? That's what I want. I have the DVD, so don't really need it on my hard drive. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . This might be able to help. http://www.jodix.com/
They have a free DVD to mp3 ripper that you can use to get just the audio from a DVD. Once it's mp3, you can transfer it to your phone. _________________ 74 Sho-Bud ProII

I'm sorry, Richard. I didn't read your post carefully enough and selective comprehension set in.
I tried it on my Android phone, and it wouldn't play the files with either extension. I don't have a solution that will work, but there may be one out there - I just haven't tried to find it. |

I have the Mp3 files already. They are already on my phone. I downloaded the from Amazon before I located a copy of the DVD/CD bundle. I'll check it out in case I have other DVD's I want to get the Mp3 files. It would be nice if I could convert the DVD files into Mp4 files, but it's starting to look like that's not possible. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Thanks Scott. I'll give them a try. It will be great if they convert to an Mp4 or wma file. I could also put them on my Zune player. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
