I bought a true tone pickup from Williams Guitar Co. DO I have to lift the neck to install it or do I have the wrong one is there a narrow and a wide mount? My guitar is a Mullen RP and the George L mounts on the ends, and the true tone on the sides.

They do indeed come in narrow (mounting on the ends: Mullen and Sho-Bud, maybe some others) and wide (almost everybody else).
If you look up Jerry Wallace (he's listed and in Artesia NM), he might be able to send you a replacement mounting plate, or something like it.
Does Mullen use a pickup tray, or do they mount to the guitar?

HI Lane the pickups on the RP model mount to the guitar, will probably have to get a different one. I figured out my sho-bud vp is soaking up some of the tone any thoughts on that? But I think a single coil pickup will help to. Thanks

1: I love the TrueTone.
2: Jerry is a great guy and can certainly get you sorted out mountwise. Or try swapping on the forum.
3: For the tone suck, Lil Izzy. Or other buffers, but I like the Izzy.

I usually by TruTone pickups right from Jerry.
You just tell him what guitar you are putting it on and he sends you the correct pickup.

I got a True Tone for my E9 neck on my RP several years ago. It dropped right in.
