Just curious if any of you have modified the Nashville 1000 by either putting a back and/or any insulation in the back of the amp.
Last night, I was playing and wondered if enclosing the back would add more bottom end and take away a little of that Peavey Mid-range honk. I stuck a pillow in there and I was surprised (kinda) that it did exactly that.
Bottom came up and Honk was diminished somewhat.
I'd like to hear your story if there is one. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

I had a 1000 and installed the Ken Fox mod ships ($29.00) Got rid of the honk and tamed the high end a bit. This worked for me. |

I did the same thing George but the Honk was still there a little and the bottom really didn't change at all. I'm considering making a baffle and covering the inside with acoustic foam. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

Dick, maybe a Telonics or Eminence EPS 15c speaker replacement ? A bit expensive, but these two speakers are in high demand in the forum classifieds, so you could sell it easily, but might have to take a little loss on it. Might be worth it just to try one out, though. |
