Is BMI still building guitars? Did Zane or anyone else ever put out any teaching material based on Zane's tuning?

I don't believe that Zane ever had any formal teaching method on his tuning. I play that tuning, having spent 3 months with him and Faye back in late '78/early '79. If you're really keen, I'd be happy to help you get across it. Do a search under "Zane Beck's tuning" (pedal steel) and you should discover some interesting insights.

Somebody is still building an occasional new BMI. Herby Wallace had one advertised on the forum, at a very reasonable price, not long ago. It was a single ten with 3 pedals, 4 knees for around $1295... I had one once, one of the older ones with three pedals and three knees, standard Emmons tuning, and it was a nice guitar, played easily, stayed in tune and had nice sustain. Larry J.
