Dont know much about these guitars, though have heard raves about the guitars. Are these guitars that sell as far as resell? Also do they sell well enough that one wouldnt have to sit on one for a length of time waiting for a buyer?Again just found out about the brand via word of mouth.Who would be the authorized person to contact here in tennessee for sales?

Damir Besic is the only guy I've ever heard of dealing with this brand.

FWIW, this one has been on the market for about 2 months.

Here's a site that Damir is associated with. He has Tennessee as a residence on his profile. I've only seen a handful of these PROMAT"s "For Sale", over the last year, on the forum...they do get positive reviews and are making a push-pull.
As for resale?...that's tough...not seen that many used ones being re-sold at this time.

So your "friend" has some bad information......

Uh oh. This story has familiar red flags all over it.Caveat emptor!! If I were you, I'd write directly to Mr. Papic and ask him if he has any authorized sales agent in PA. If he says no, then there's your answer.

Be aware that there is a well known scam artist working the steel guitar community out of Pennsylvania who has been banned from the forum and operates through Facebook. You would want to satisfy yourself that this is not him before going any further.

If this is your "friend" in Greensburg I would delete him and run away..very, very fast!

These guitars are made in Europe. I have had one for about five years now and it is without a doubt an excellent built instrument and plays with the ease of an Emmons Push Pull. I can't speak for the saleability question or the validity of the person saying they are built in PA.

real quick, whether it was him or someone that hijacked his facebook profile,he asked for $500 dollar deposit and that there were 3 guitars in front of me waiting to be built. He said we would do a contract signed that would be done by snail mail.He claimed he lived in europe till about 10 or 12 years ago.I up to this point was wondering if they had a rep here in the states and somewhere close to have it built. This would have eliminated the unbelievably high shipping from Europe.I dont give up money easily and $500 is to much to lose if this is a scam.

You're in Nashville. Go talk with Damir Besic. He's the guy in the States who knows best about Promat steels. He'll set you straight about it all.

Definitely talk to Damir. I believe he is the only one here in the states representing Promat. I could be wrong on that though.

The first thing I thought when reading your post, was SCAM!!!

There aren't many Promats here in the states (compared to any other brand), so I would be skeptical of any for sale, unless it was offered here by another forum member.

Contact Damir Besic here on the Forum. He is a rep.

:( That guy, Ron !, is a known douchebag and phisherman who has been discussed on this forum before. Take Howard's advice ,delete his name and forget him...oh yeah then talk to Damir... ;-)

as far as I know Ron makes "Bentley" steel guitars... "Promat" is made in Europe, in Novi Sad by Mr. Papic, and has no official reps anywhere, every guitar if ordered new, has to be ordered directly from the company web site... as far as quality goes, it is by far one of the best guitars I have ever owned, as a resell value, I guess it would depend on the market, and how much seller is willing to pay for the guitar, however, they are not cheap..there is a few very good deals on the forum right now, I really don't want to get involved in this, so I gave a few facts just to clear up the confusion little bit...

From Ron on FB...

`STEELGUITARFORUM:
-----------------------------
What is wrong with you people these days? Can't you read anymore or am I using University style grammar?
Yet again, everybody and their brother is jumping on the wagon pointing fingers at me saying I build Promat guitars.
Let me say it once and for all in terms ya'll understand.
"I build Bentley steel guitars"
I want nothing to do with the steel guitar forum but I guarantee you that if this crap does not stop I will contact my lawyer and sue the forum for defamation and spreading falsified information. For all of you that are reading this, you might want to forward this reply to Bobby Lee because my email to him bounced back to me.
This shit better stops because I WILL do what I just mentioned..........I will sue.
I build BENTLEY steel guitars damned........NOT Promat guitars.`

Why are there a few Forum members out there who blame Ron ! for everything ?

Nobody ever even suggested that he builds Promat guitars, so why bring him into it ?

Promats are Serbian, not Pennsylvanian.
And. $500 is lower than the Promat deposit.
I'm thinking there's a scam.
I've seen one Promat. It's a damn good likeness of a push-pull. I'd happily buy one if I had the bucks.

Methinks he doth protest too much. Why the litigious comments?
