Flitz vs Blitz

About a year ago I got a Flitz cloth for cleaning my strings after I play. It's a mirofiber cloth that is supposed to be much better for cleaning things like glasses, strings, etc. I got it because I couldn't find the Blitz cloth anywhere. Recently I read in another post about the Blitz cloth, with a directive on where to buy it, but after reading about it, I wonder if it is coated with some type of polish that cleans the strings, or metal? The Flitz cloth is uncoated, though they also sell a very excellent metal polish. I just don't think I want a polish on my strings. I know guys swear by this Blitz cloth however. Any comments or information would be helpful.

I just got Blitz from my local music store. It came in a small plastic bag with one cloth impregnated with something (there is a warning to keep it out of contact with lacquer finishes) and one dry polishing cloth. I've only used it once so far. It will need regular usage before I can assess its value as a string preserver. Don't know nuthin' about Flitz.
[This message was edited by Jon Light on 05 January 2003 at 09:32 AM.]

Where do you get the Flitz cloth?

I went on the web typing in Flitz & found it. My local hardware store sells the polish & some other stuff they make, but not the cloth. I e-mailed them & they recommended the cloth for guitar strings.
