Very Interesting !! Jerry Byrd was very happy with his early, more mellow steel tone. He was not a happy camper when the recording companies asked him to "treble up" his steel tone. Maybe treble sounds penetrates and gets your attention more ?? I think most "Hawaiian" players like a more mellow tone !!?? If I'm playing "Country" I use more treble and on a Hawaiian tune turn the treble down . You can't get too bassy though !! Just my thoughts and opinion !! olde geeze - AKA Eddie "C" |
