Pictures of new Fulawka!

Here are the pictures (finally) of the new "baby". The craftsmanship on this guitar is typical of Ed "The Man" Fulawka's work. The wood is hand-rubbed lacquer over natural birdseye maple. The top of the guitar has a darker stain, but the guitar is made of solid birdseye. Note the reversed pedals and knees to accommodate a left leg/ankle injury.

The standard case is an ATA "Anvil" case, and the guitar comes with dust cover, leg/rod bag,pick/bar bag, and a tool/spare parts kit.

Beautiful. If I had the bucks, I'd buy about a dozen different steels, and Fulawka is definately one of them.

What kind of pickup is that?

Mike H. Just absolutely Beautiful my friend......I love the color scheme...good for you pal....
Mike P.> Ed makes every single part of his guitar(except the screws)...so including the pickups...as that is his own design and windings....and believe me....JUST AWESOME response.
Oh and it's not burled wood on the underneath.....it is ALLL Birdseye Maple Body all the way through....not covered and not some of it showing......ALL Birdseye Maple through and through.....so yes you will see the burls on top and underneath....when it's not covered with anything.
.....Wow....Eddy is really crankin'um out....Ollie you helpin'?????

Mike, that sure is a beauty -- great color scheme. Can't wait for mine! It is amazing to me that ed could get the pedals configured for you that way. Of course, in my opinion, everything ed does is amazing.

Mike, I've added your pictures to the "House of Wood" page at Ricky's website: http://www.mightyfinemusic.com/house_of_wood.htm
[This message was edited by Stephen O'Brien on 28 December 2002 at 03:16 AM.]

That is craftsmanship, like a fine piece of furnature. I'm sure it sounds as fantastic as it looks. Best of health and happiness with your new Fulawka.

Hi Mike,
Hey, I'll be over in a few days to check that baby out up close. What a beaut! Oh.......shouldn't there be a 2 meter rig hanging on the side somewhere?

Stephan:
The pedal placement on Mike's steel was a result of him seeing my lefty Fulawka in Ed's room in St. Louis. He explained to me about his injury and he had already talked to another well-known builder at the convention who told him he couldn't build a steel with the pedals configured like that and gave him a multitude of reasons why it wouldn't work. I introduced him to Ed and when he explained what he wanted, Ed told him "I can build you anything you want".
I think these pics prove it could in fact "be done"! Especially when you are a craftsman, like Ed Fulawka certainly is!!

Ricky: Yes, Ollie is helping Ed out, whenever he can.
