I am installing a Lawerence 705 pickup in my LDG Sho-Bud. Can someone please tell me how to connect the 5 wires coming out of the pickup. It has the sheilded wire, a red , a green a white, and a black one. Thanks |

Does your LDG have a coil tap switch? _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

From this website here: http://www.wildepickups.com/Wiring___Tech_Info.html#2679
I find
White=Hot
Black and blue=Ground
Red and green/twist together and tie off.
If you have a coil tap switch on your guitar, run red and green to one leg of the switch and the other to ground. When the switch is open, you have both coils, when closed, single coil operation.
If I had it, I'd run single coil until I met hummy rooms. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks Lane, I appreciate your help. My guitar does not have the coil tap., so it seems easy enough.
Thanks again. C.D. Richards |

I've heard the 705 in SC operation. An excellent Honky-tonk sound. If your endplate has a hole for a switch, I'd do it. But I prefer SC sound. Better attack and more personality _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
