Ped-A-Bro Survey, Who has one?
Posted: 22 Dec 2002 6:18 pm

Hey guys and gals, I am not looking to buy one or sell one, I was just curious how many members had a Franklin Ped-A-Bro or even who might like to have one.
I am sure that there are not many in existence as they are very expensive and probably more of a luxury to us, and our stage space is very limited.
I can only think of a few players who do have them, Paul Franklin, Hal Rugg and the guy who used to play with Keith Whitley. I also saw Tim Sargent play one with Ricky Skaggs on Nashville Now years ago, but I don't think it was his.
Theresa Galbraith, you probably have all the answers, Thanks, God Bless,
Michael T.

Mike Johnson, is that the right name?... played one on the old TNN. And did they come in any colors other than green?

This is off your thread, but I read about Marrs or one of his employees adding 2 pedals
to the Marrs Cat-Can (Rear Neck)of S/D 10.
I was pleased with the sound of the lap Cat-Can I owned at one time. There is a picture
& article on the forium some where.

I'm pretty sure Tyack has one
(you out there, Dan?)
Peggy Green has at least two -- one E9 and one C6
There may be a few more out there than you'd suspect.

Wow, thats great. I sure would like to add one to my toolbox. I am not in a position to buy one at this moment, but does anyone know if Paul is still building these? I did not see a price listed for a ped-a-bro on his site.
Guess I will just have to keep using my Match-Bro for a while.
Thanks,
Michael T.

At the PSGA show this past November, Brad Higgins had on display, his Pedal Dobro.
Brad is one multi - talented guy who is primarily a violin builder. He is also an excellent steel player, luthier, machinist, engineer, and not a bad guy either.
Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.....

I was told by Brad, that he bought a "dobro" kit from Paul Beard, and then went on to build his one of a kind pedal dobro. The wood body that is secured to the frame has foam padding underneath it.
Check out his website for more photos of his excellent unique work.....
