Pedal Change Problem HELP

Help!

Just changed strings on Fessenden SD10, and went from a Wound 6th to a Plain.
Now the B pedal raises 6th string to A# instead of A
What happened?
Is this due to a plain vs wound string?
Thanks

Absolutely yes.

In addition to retuning the nylon nut at the end plate, in order to keep the 6th string and 3rd string in reasonable sync (timing-wise), you probably ought to move the pull rod to a slot closer to the cross shaft. Unscrew the nylon nut until there is enough slack on the rod to slip it out of its slot, reposition it in its new slot and tighten it up and tune it.

Thanks guys - I figured it out - didn't realize the difference would be that great. I switched to a wound and problem disappeared. I just bought 6 sets with a plain 6th, so I guess at next string change I'll make the necessary adjustments. I would like to see the difference in tone with a Plain string.
Thanks again.
Every time I go on this Forum, I'm amazed at how quickly people respond!! Excellent.

Keith, the difference comes because the pitch change force (and the tension) applies only on the CORE.
You changed core size from .022 to .008.
BIG change there.
