Biggest bonehead move of my life. Left my tailgate down and my steel slid out into the street in the heart of downtown Richmond. Can't find it.
Black Fessenden S10. Please keep an eye out. |

Place an ad in the "musical instruments" section of the Richmond Craig's List and offer a reward…… maybe you'll get lucky. _________________ Jerry Jones |

Stephen...Would immediately check local pawnshops and monitor the Richmond Craigslist, 'Musical Instruments For Sale' section (having a record of the serial# will be extremely helpful in this aspect!) If someone absconded with your guitar, they will most likely attempt to convert it into quick cash asap. Meanwhile, I will keep my ear to the ground, best of luck.

We all make those moves...I used to photograph weddings...drove off one night after an event and left my camera case with several thousand dollars worth of stuff in it sitting on the church steps and didn't think about it until I got home to unpack.
Rushed back to the church and amazingly the case was still sitting where I left it. _________________ GFI SM10 3/4, 1937 Gibson EH-150, 2 - Rondo SX Lap Steels and a Guyatone 6 String C6. Peavey 400 and a Roland 40 Amps. Behringer Reverb Pedal. |

Guitar picked up by a good samaritan and I'll be recovering it this afternoon. Lesson learned! |

The world is full of good, honest people, but only the bad ones get into the news. You're a very lucky man. A good thing you had your name and address inside the case. |

Man am I ever relieved.
Got the guitar home and one string was a little flat. No damage, hardly a mark on the case. Oddly enough, I've always avoided putting any gear in the bed of a pickup. I was finishing up a rehearsal and had to jet across town to a gig. I thought, "it'll be fine, you're just heading up the street. What could possibly happen in a couple miles?" Famous last words, lol.
My name and number were not on the case. My Facebook friends shared my frantic post and miraculously, we were able to connect the dots.
I had a lot of help from friends and my fellow steelers here in town were quick to offer me their instruments to use, in case it was gone or damaged. Thanks guys for all the encouraging words! |

Outstanding! Only one string a little flat? That's some tough stuff in that Fessenden. |

My Fessy was tuned at the factory....
I once left my very pricey classical guitar on the overhead rack of the R5 commuter train in Philly, going from school to work. Ended up at the end of the line; they sent it back down on a later train. Gotta wonder. |

I'm serious. The thing slid out the back of full size pick up onto the street. When I finally got it home and put the tuner on it, 1 string was flat. Thomas Custom Case and Fessenden, if you're looking for a testimonial, I'm your guy!
Alan, all my cases will now sport my contact info. Good call. |

It always suprises me that people will put identification tags on suitcases full of clothes and knick-nacks when they travel, but on a case containing an expensive instrument they don't think it's necessary. If this thread has done nothing else it has brought to light the fact that all instrument cases should have a tag with your name and address. and there should be another tag inside the case in case the outside one falls off. |

Done...at least for my pedal steel and 6-string cases. Banjo case I left unidentified, for obvious reasons....oh wait, I don't play or own a banjo...whew! |

Sorry Scott, I don't know. But I do know that when I had a claim for a damaged mandolin about 10 years ago, they treated me right. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Thanks Mike. Some companies insure by so much per hundred or thousand of value. My ham radio insurance is that way. I do second Mike suggestion, carry a good policy on your gear. I had one when I traveled. _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)
