A bandmate is looking for the artist that did a recording titled Come Be My Rainbow In the 1950s written by Alfred Bryan & Percy Wenrich. He said there was some pedal steel playing in the background. Any ideas or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick

On allmusic.com you can find a recording done by Bill Clifton. It may not be the same tune, but it is credited to the authors you mentioned. However, if you search under their names, you don't see a listing of this song. It may have been done in the '50s, but it only lists Bill Clifton as a singer of the song.
Hope this helps.

I did some additional checking and found that the original recording is called Rainbow, and was recorded in 1924 by the Shannon Quartet. Also it is on a recording by that same name by Chet Atkins, as an instrumental. The album is Mr. Guitar, the Complete Recordings.
I did a Google search for Alfred Bryan, and it gave me a link to Victor Recordings where you can listen to the recording by the Shannon Quartet, but it wouldn't play for me.
I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but the Chet Atkins recording sounds a lot like the Bill Clifton song.
