Need HELP! with Sho-Bud Professional D-10

Just picked up a Sho-Bud "Professional" for a fair price. I had one years ago, and I liked it because the copedant was so easy to change. I want to tune the lower neck "Cajun G" and keep the upper neck E9th.

This guitar is 8X4, but the two added knee levers are pretty funky. They seem to be a mix of genuine Sho-Bud parts and home-made stuff.

I'm going to need some rods and other knicknacks as well as some info on when it was built -- I have the serial number. Is there anyone here who knows/loves these particular instruments?
When I purchased my original Professional from San Francisco Guitar Center in 1974, it was a huge step up from my Maverick. I'd like to get this one in order. If anyone can offere advice or help, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

You might try Duane Marrs in Madison Tn. He worked at Sho-Bud for years and he still works and rebuilds Sho-Buds. His # is
615-868-5344.

Check this site:
www.planet.eon.net/~gsimmons/shobud/

Also do a search using the search feature here in the forum. There is a wealth of information in some of these discussions.

Even though the topic has been covered, it is good to ask the question again, because every time some of the repeat questions are asked, new information or a different prospective on things is often brought into the discussion.

I know that there is a web site that talks about the serial numbers and I think it is different one than the one that I referenced above.

Ricky Davis posted a detailed description of how to remove and repair the changer, just as an example. I have sent off pictures of the underside of my ProII to someone who needed to see what his project was supposed to look like.

If you have some very specific questions, ask them here and/or do a search. You will very likely get the help you need.
